Remiel didn't often bring Pokémon into these simulations with him. THORGRIM the GALARIAN MEOWTH, however, seemed to insist this time. And they hardly have time to introduce themselves to Abigail Mikhaylov before the first starts.[break][break]

Within moments, they find themselves within a jungle so lush Remiel might even refer to it as a garden of Eden. It is only when he takes notice of a SCREAM TAIL by a pond nearby that the serenity of this place shatters. An ear-piercing shriek follows, forcing the royal and his cat to seek higher ground as prehistoric Pokémon flee in all directions.[break][break]

It isn't long before the noise drops Remiel to his knees as he clutches his ears closed. Thorgrim, on the other hand, returns the gesture with a scream of his own as his hairs stand on end.[break][break]

It seems to revel in the chaos.

The world loads in around them, and Abigail barely has any time to interact with the environment as a screeching sound reverbs throughout the space. Frantically her palms come up to cover her poor ears as she follows her fellow trainer, stress evident on her face as she soon joins Remiel, brought down to her knees with little effort at all. [break][break]
Usually it’s hard to get an emotional rise out of her. Not this time. A dark haze casts over her gold eyes. Anger, like a volcano bubbling to pool over, threatening to scorch the land itself. Flareon here will have to prove the fury of her ire. Time to create a little chaos of her own. She balls her fists, calls out to her Pokemon.[break][break]
“Flareon! Do something!”[break][break]
Flareon’s mane spikes in ferocity, flames high and mighty as fire generates from it's whole body. Howling out loud, it joins the SCREAM TAIL, in the yelling match. Not exactly what she had in mind..[break][break]

Their Pokémon have invited the ire of the Scream Tail. Remiel does his best to recover within the brief interlude but chooses to seek cover first and foremost when it notices the creature suck in another deep breath of air. "Let's get out of here, Abigail!" He calls out to his partner. He'd read her name on a report before joining this.[break][break]

Just when it seems too late to escape the next scream, however, a massive apex predator (WALKING WAKE) emerges from the jungle to viciously devour the Scream Tail. Remiel can't help but simply stand there for a moment, observing this with abject fascination before the beast turns its gaze onto him. He'd never seen this thing before. There was no archaeological or paleological record of it. But it strongly resembled something...[break][break]

SUICUNE.

[break]

It is only thanks to his Galarian Meowth, who nicks him with a claw as it leaps from his shoulder to flee, that the crown prince snaps out of it.[break][break]

"I'll draw it away! RUN!" He urges Abigail Mikhaylov as he spawns a LIGHTNING BOLT in his hand and casts it towards the large beast.[break][break]

It wasn’t like her to feel fear. Agitation towards a situation sure, but never once has Abigail felt the blood in her veins run cold. This simulation experiment however, has come close to recreating that bone-chilling feeling for her that she’s only ever read about in books. It unsettles her right down to her core. That quick-wit of hers is all but numbed in the face of danger and it worries her. There’s no time to ruminate on the feeling, though, as Remiel at the very least has kept his wits in order and acts.[break][break]
Flareon runs after her before being returned hastily back to the safety of its Pokeball. No matter what she wouldn’t risk the safety of her Pokemon. Now it's one threat down, another blood-thirsty creature straight on their tail. Good lord. What even were these Pokemon? Suddenly she regrets not paying more attention to when JAMES BAKER would go off on another one of his nerd rants. [break][break]
Remiel shouts at her to run. But she doesn’t. Instead Abigail clutches onto Flareon’s pokeball, frowning at the man before her.[break][break]
“Hey! Don’t go being a hero! I’m capable of helping too!”[break][break]

Just before the WALKING WAKE descends upon him with its teeth, the world surrounding Remiel freezes. Before long, his surroundings dissolve to give way to another simulation: the city of SLATEPORT amidst an invasion. TEAM ROCKET was back at it again, and the veteran prince was ready to take this as a chance to practice.[break][break]

After assuring himself that Thorgrim is by his side again, the prince turns to Abigail. "Have you ever taken part in a war before? This is what it looks like..." He grimly adds, sweeping his gaze to their surroundings once more. "Death, destruction, and the worst parts of humanity. It takes its toll on you afterward. Even I wasn't spared."[break][break]

Just then, a nearby ARBOK emerges to try and spit ACID at the pair. The ROCKET GRUNT behind it smirks as it watches the glob fly through the air, only to be intercepted by Remiel's Galarian Meowth. Though it drenches the cat properly, it doesn't seem to mind. Instead, it holds out its paws and tries to put both trainer and Pokémon under the spell of its HYPNOSIS.[break][break]

Many would deem her heartless for lack of reaction. Not that she isn’t used to it. She has a textbook understanding that war and conflict is wrong, wants nothing to do with it, but it’s never invoked a physical emotional reaction within her. This time is no different. With no underlying reason or fighting against immortality, she fights only to survive and get out alive.[break][break]
After the Arbok’s attack Flareon’s ears perch, protective of its trainer and anticipating another ambush.[break][break]
“I’ve never been in a war.” She replies dryly, gold gaze downcast. “But fight and do whatever it takes to survive?”[break][break]
Another ROCKET GRUNT rears his ugly head. The WEEZING it commands wastes no time in beginning the assault. It shoots out a GUNK SHOOT, one FLAREON swiftly counters with a FLAMETHROWER of its own, thwarting the attempt on their lives. [break][break]

Despite the valiant effort of their Pokémon, Remiel and Abigail soon find themselves surrounded. The former's Galarian Meowth heaves as it stumbles back from the latest attack: a large RATICATE's SUPER FANG. Despite its scruffy fur and battle fatigue, however, Thorgrim bares his claws and keeps himself standing.[break][break]

A LIGHTNING BOLT crackles in Remiel's hand as he takes a defensive stance back-to-back with Abigail Mikhaylov in response to the grunts surrounding them. "You and your Pokémon can hold your own... I'm impressed." The royal smirks, sharply glaring at each grunt that dares draw close. "I don't see a way out of here, though."[break][break]

Before long, however, SILAS BLACKWELL appears on a building ledge above them. In the darkness of the night, his LUXRAY's menacing yellow eyes glow brightly. But the show of aggression doesn't impress the former EX-ADMIN.[break][break]

"I won't surrender so easily," He responds, aiming his crackling bolt at the former BOSS.[break][break]

"How about you, Abigail?"

Flareon bares its fiery fangs at the Rocket Boss and his Luxray, unrelenting and ready to strike when told. Likewise, the feeling between trainer and Pokemon is mutual. Remiel likes her moxie. So, with a crackling gleam of excitement in his suddenly neon blue eyes, the AVATAR nods. "I trust you." And it was time to see that trust pay its dividends.[break][break]

In one sudden flash of movement, the EX-ADMIN casts his LIGHTNING BOLT at SILAS BLACKWELL. As chaos erupts, however— the vicious yelp of his GALARIAN MEOWTH, the roaring flames of her FLAREON, and the battle cries of all those that surround them— the simulation implodes in on its participants.[break][break]

In an instant, the world comes to life around them again. Rather than a gang of killers out to string them up, however, the pair find themselves within the bustling FESTIVAL OF MASKS at KITAKAMI. Remiel drops out of his combative stance as the tension of danger slips out from him with a relieved sigh, then turns to Abigail brightly.[break][break]

"A little reward for our trials, hm?"

His GALARIAN MEOWTH, in the meantime, finds itself dramatically crashing into a teriyaki stall where an enemy PURRLOIN had once been.[break][break]
